Workshop for Industry -

Purpose: This
workshop provides a detailed explanation of the entire ACTD process.
While the primary focus will be on the role of industry and academia in
the ACTD process, members of Government (both Defense and non-Defense
Agencies) and US Allies will also find the information useful.
Why
an ACTD Workshop for Industry:
Since its inception in 1994, the ACTD Program has grown in importance
and value to both the Warfighter and industry. More than 110 ACTDs have
been approved representing an investment of more than $5B. The ACTD
program provides unique opportunities and challenges for industry and
Government alike. This workshop will explain the evolving ACTD process
to help the attendee understand how to be an effective participant.
Presenter:
Mr. Michael J.
O’Connor is President, O’Connor Consulting Services. He has been
conducting workshops and presenting tutorials for ACTD Managers since
1995. More than 1500 Government and private industry personnel have
attended his tutorials. In 1999 he authored the DoD ACTD Manager’s
Reference Guide, a computer-based training course for ACTD Managers.
Who
Should Attend:
Business development leaders, engineers, test and evaluation personnel,
program managers, project leaders, and others who want to understand
ACTD process and the role and opportunities for industry and
academia.
What
Will Be Presented:
The workshop will begin with
an all day tutorial of the ACTD process. On the second day, key members
of the Defense Department will present their views of the ACTD program.
Course Notes:
Each participant will receive a bound copy of the presentation material
with presenter’s notes.
